专利摘要:
An apparatus and method for counter-gravity casting of molten metal, in a gas permeable mold with a fill passage upper end above the lateral communication of the passage with other mold cavities. The mold is filled by low pressure in a chamber sealed about the mold while the mold fill passage is communicated with the molten metal. Provision is made for maintaining, during filling, the upper part of the mold fill passage at a lower pressure than that in the chamber external to the mold.

The invention relates to foundry, in particular, to casting using vacuum.
The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of castings and to avoid damage to the mold.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic side view of the device; in fig. 2 and 3 - the same, with other types of forms; in fig. 4 - the same, in combination with a closed crucible, side view.
The device comprises a sealed chamber 1 mounted on a support 2, which can move vertically and horizontally. In the hermetic chamber 1 in the upper wall there is a pipe 3 for connecting with the vacuum generating means in the hermetic chamber and in the lower wall an opening 4 for holding a gas-permeable form 5 with a vertical sprue channel 6 having a lower open end 7. In FIG. 1 shows the shell type. A crucible 8 with liquid metal 9 is placed under the chamber 1, into which the metal conduit 10 is immersed. The metal conduit can be an integral part of the mold either as a separate pipe with a flange 11, which is installed at the open end 7 of the mold and is sealed in the opening 4 of the chamber 1. For moving chamber 1 to the crucible serves as a hydraulic cylinder 12 connected to support 2. It is possible that the crucible moves to the chamber.
The device has means for creating a pressure drop in the gating channel 6 and the chamber 1, which is made in the form of a pipe 13 connecting the upper end of the gating channel 6 to the vacuum system. Piping 3 and 13 can be connected to various vacuum pumps or to one equipped with a valve pressure regulator.
The upper end of the gating channel 6 is closed by a gas-permeable porous stopper 14. A seal 15 is installed between the pipeline 13 and the stopper 14, and a sealing 17 is installed between the pipeline 13 and the chamber wall 16.
The method is carried out as follows.
A metal pipeline 10 is preliminarily installed in the lower opening 4 of the open chamber 1. Thereafter, the mold 5 is placed on the flange 11 of the megaloline wire and tightly connected to it. The plug 14 is installed on the upper end of the gate channel 6. The chamber 1 with the metal pipe 10 is moved downward by means of the hydraulic cylinder 12 until the end of the metal pipe is lowered into the liquid metal 9. In the cavity of the mold 5, a vacuum is created by connecting the pipeline 13 to the vacuum system
and at the same time a lower vacuum is created in chamber 1 through pipe 3. Metal from crucible under the effect of pressure difference over metal in crucible and in form enters metal metal 10, sprue channel biv of cavity 18 of form 5. Pressure in chamber 1 is sufficient only to fill cavities 18. After completion of filling, the pressure in chamber 1 may be
0 is increased while maintaining the magnitude of the vacuum inside the gating channel, which will improve the quality of castings and reduce tensile stresses in the mold. After completion of the shaping
5, the pressure in the mold and the chamber is raised to atmospheric. Chamber 1 is then opened and mold 5 and metal conduit 10 are removed.
The magnitude of the pressure drop maintained in the upper part of the gate channel 6 and chamber 1 may vary depending mainly on the characteristics of a particular shape. For difficult-to-fill forms, for example,
5, with very thin molding areas in caper 1, pressure is maintained at least 130 mm Hg during filling the mold with metal. above danpeni maintained through
0 pipe 13. Beaue's high pressure drop ensures normal filling of the molds. The advantages lie in entrusting the internal pressure to the walls of the Aormy cavities.
5 In FIG. Figure 1 shows the high-temperature ceramic form; in fig. 2 - low temperature shape formed by horizontal sections. The invention allows the use of
These are forms for filling with vacuum suction, since a higher pressure in the inner part of the form reduces the total pressure of the meta.pa on the form and prevents it from breaking. Another modification of low temperature5

with the sprue channel, but they also have thin ribs 19, located vertically above the lintonic junction. In this case, the open end of the pipeline 13 is made with a larger cross section than the upper end of the gate channel 6 so that it overlaps the mold cavities. In this case, the plug may not be used. The lower pressure in the pipe 13 is transmitted through the upper part of the mold to the parts difficult to fill and it is not necessary to maintain an abnormally low pressure drop in the chamber 1.
When casting chemically active metals and alloys, an inert gas is used in the proposed method. In this case, the chamber 1 has a pipeline 20 (FIG. 4) for connecting it to an inert gas source (not shown). In addition, the device contains a casing 21 for the crucible 8 with a lid 22. The latter has an opening 23, through which the metal conduit 10 is fed into the crucible 8. A similar opening 24 is made in the heat-resistant screen 25 of insulating material. Removable cover 26 is sealed with a seal 27. Hole 28 serves to install a thermocouple into the melt. Pipeline 29 connects the casing to the vacuum system. Pipeline 30 serves to supply an inert gas. I
In operation with the device (Fig. 4), the liquid metal is supplied to the crucible 8 under an atmosphere of an inert gas. Before starting the casting, the cover 26 is removed, the air entering the casing 21 through the opening 23 is prevented by creating an inert gas flow with a pressure higher than atmospheric. The end of the metal wire 10 is introduced through the opening 23 and stops above the surface of the metal in the crucible 8. In this position, the chamber 1 is evacuated to a small degree of vacuum, necessary only for supplying inert gas to the casing 21 and through the metal conduit to the mold, as well as into the chamber 1 s. the purpose of purging them is to remove air. At this stage, the pipeline 20 is connected and preferably the pipeline 13. The movement of the chamber is resumed, the metal pipeline is immersed in the metal. In this position, chamber 1 and form 5 are once again vacuumed to a higher degree ba76876
kum, the form is being filled in according to the described process. After the metal is sufficiently cured, the chamber rises and the pressure in it increases due to the supply of inert gas through conduit 20 as long as the metal is at a chemically active temperature.
Blowing inert: - with gas supplied at low pressure, outside the mold and from the inside is more efficient than blowing the mold only from the outside
The invention provides the quality of castings and the filling of any forms of destruction without damage.
